The Saints boss praised his Drogheda United counterpart and admitted that his side are expecting a difficult game on Friday evening

St Patrick's Athletic manager Liam Buckley has said that he is expecting a 'tough game' when his side travel to Hunky Dorys Park to take on Drogheda United this evening, Friday September 28.

The Saints currently sit in second place in the Airtricity Premier Division, six points behind league leaders Sligo Rovers, and they can strengthen their position with a win over third-placed Drogheda, but Buckley admitted that it will be a difficult task.

"There’s a lot at stake on Friday as a win for either side will leave them in a strong position for second place and move closer to Sligo," Buckley told before the game.

He continued: "Drogheda have had a fantastic season to date, their EA Sports Cup victory was thoroughly deserved and in terms of the league, they are third on merit.

"Mick Cooke has done a tremendous job and they’ve given us four tough games to date this season, and we are expecting no different on Friday night," he concluded.
