Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill has named a 23-man squad for his team's opening World Cup qualifying games against Russia and Luxembourg.

Making a return to the squad are Manchester United defender Jonny Evans and Fulham defender Aaron Hughes who had missed out on the previous squad due to injury.

Former Derry City winger Pat McCourt is included, as is former Shamrock Rovers goalkeeper Alan Mannus, but there was no place for Burnley's Danny Lafferty, who had featured in the previous two squads.

Northern Ireland travel to Russia for their opening fixture on September 7 before hosting Luxembourg at Windsor Park on September 11.
