Chelsea midfielder Conor Clifford and Burnley defender Kevin Long have opted to join Portsmouth on one month loan deals.
Clifford, who has had previous loan spells at Notts County and Plymouth revealed that it was a difficult task to break into the Chelsea squad and was hoping to play as many games as possible for Pompey.
Speaking to the club's official website, the 20-year-old said:“I’m really happy to be here. I can see it’s an unbelievable club with great fans and good lads.
“I’ve been playing games for the reserves at Chelsea but it’s such a massive squad at the club. So my plan is to come here and play as many games as I can.”
Centre back Kevin Long, meanwhile, joins the club from Burnley. The former Cork City defender has had previous loan spells at Accrington Stanley and Rochdale, and the 22-year-old has opted to link up with Michael Appleton's squad.
Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton said of the deals: "I find it humbling that these players are prepared to come and play for me and play for Portsmouth."
