The award marks Keane's first MLS Player of the Month and is the first won by a Galaxy player this season. Keane scored five goals in six MLS games in the month of July, bringing his total to nine goals for the season thus far.
With nine goals, the veteran Ireland striker is joint top goalscorer for LA Galaxy this season along with team captain Landon Donovan.
However, Keane has also helped to set up goals and is third in the club's goal assists rankings, laying on six for his teammates.
LA Galaxy take on Seattle Sounders on Sunday August 5 and Keane is looking ahead to the game.
“It’s going to be a big game, but the way we’re playing at the moment we can go there and certainly get a result,” he told lagalaxy.com.
