The 22-year-old featured in the Reds' first pre-season friendly on Wednesday as Sean O'Driscoll's side ran out 4-0 winners at Tonbridge Wells.
O'Connor played the first half and was involved in the second goal, scored by Republic of Ireland underage international Billy Clarke.
The left back was released by Ipswich Town at the end of the last campaign before opting for a return to Turner's Cross. However, he has made just four appearances for Tommy Dunne’s side this season as a result of hand and leg injuries.
It is the second time he has spent time at Broadfield Stadium on trial after he rejected a six-month loan move to Crawley last August.
