Ireland captain Robbie Keane scored two goals for LA Galaxy to mark his 32nd birthday in a 2-0 victory over Chicago Fire in the MLS Western Conference.
Keane's goals have helped to propel Galaxy into fifth place in the division and spell an end to the team's losing streak.
Speaking after the game, Keane said that he was happy with the away victory.
"It's a very important result, especially away from home," Keane told the official LA Galaxy website.
“I think it was important that we got the second goal to try and kill the game off," continued the striker. "And lucky enough we did that. I was happy to score and help the team.”
He added: “The most important thing is the team and getting points on the board and that was the case today.
“I’m happy enough for the whole team. I think we played well, we didn’t give them too many chances to score, I think they maybe had one chance and Josh [Saunders] pulled off a good save.
"Apart from that, I don’t think they had too many chances and I think we deserved to win the game,” concluded Keane.
