Shay Given sits out final Tuscany training session ahead of Hungary friendly

Concerns for Giovanni Trapattoni as Ireland's experienced goalkeeper skips final Italian training session due to blister complaints
There are concerns over the fitness of Ireland's number one goalkeeper Shay Given this Saturday morning as the Donegal man sat out the final training session in Tuscany ahead of Euro 2012.

A spokesperson for the Football Association of Ireland has revealed that the Aston Villa goalkeeper is suffering from blisters.

Given was recently approved to take part in full training after resting due to a knee complaint and reiterated his excitement about the looming tournament. Nevertheless, the goalkeeper admitted that the injury risks were always there.

"You're risking yourself every time you go out for training. If it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be," the former Newcastle shot-stopper told the Irish Independent.

Meanwhile, reports from the Irish camp suggest that left back Stephen Ward will receive precautionary treatment having picked up a knock in the final training session in Italy.

The Boys in Green will take on Hungary in Budapest on Monday June 4 before their first game of Euro 2012 against Croatia on Sunday June 10 and Giovanni Trapattoni is hopeful that the likes of Shay Given and John O'Shea can take part.
