Finn Harps recorded a huge victory over bottom placed SD Galway, while Athlone Town were 2-1 winners at Ferrycarrig Park

SD Galway 1-5 Finn Harps
SD Galway slumped to another disappointing defeat in the First Division, this time against an impressive Finn Harps side.

The visitors went in just one ahead at the break, thanks to Thomas McBride's penalty kick after the midfielder was taken down in the box. SD Galway were even worse in the second half, with Ciaran Coll, McBride, and Thomas Bonner scoring three times in five minutes to make the score 4-0 by the 70th minute. Ronan Conlon got one back for Finn Harps, but Matt Harkin added a fifth at the end to continue Sligo's shocking start to the season.
Waterford United 3-1 Mervue United
Teenager Sean Maguire put in another strong performance for Waterford United, helping them to a 3-1 win over Mervue United.

Maguire opened the scoring after just two minutes, before setting up Paul Phelan for Waterford's second. Peter Keegan was on hand to add a third after half time, before Alan Murphy scored a late consolation goal for Mervue.
Wexford Youths 1-2 Athlone Town
Athlone Town overtook Wexford in third place in the table with a 2-1 win at Ferrycarrig Park.

The hosts were on top for large parts of the first half, with Tom Elmes and Craig Wall having good chances. Elmes gave them the lead just before the half hour mark, before Graham Doyle pulled off a fantastic save to keep Wexford ahead at the break.

Mark Sherlock scored from the spot just after the interval thanks to Jamie Carr's silly foul, before Elmes almost retook the lead for Wexford. However, Athlone were on top for the late stages and took the three points with Noel McGee's deflected late winner.
