Giovanni Trapattoni handed fitness boost as John O'Shea and Shay Given train
Two of Ireland's most senior players have been deemed fit to train ahead of the Boys in Green's final warm-up friendly against Hungary on Monday June 4
John O'Shea and Shay Given handed Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni a welcome boost on Thursday morning by training with the rest of the Irish squad at their Montecantini base ahead of Euro 2012.There had been doubts over the duo's fitness ahead of the tournament with O'Shea nursing an ankle complaint and Given taken extreme precautions with a knee scare.
However, both O'Shea and Given were deemed fit this morning by the medical team and the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) confirmed that they each took part in training.
Sunderland defender O'Shea featured in the outfield training session, while Aston Villa's Shay Given took part in a session with his fellow goalkeepers, Keiren Westwood and David Forde.
Ireland will play their final friendly before Euro 2012 against Hungary on Monday June 4.
