Mourinho has endured a chastening season at Real Madrid, coming up short in both the title race and Champions League, whilst being embroiled repeated spats with the Spanish media and his players.
And with Rafael Benitez approaching the end of his interim stint, Mourinho is hotly tipped to succeed the Spaniard at Stamford Bridge, where he won two consecutive Premier League titles before a well documented bust-up with owner Roman Abramovich.

"If he comes back, the story will be interesting for everyone. He will be more than welcome."
But despite what the summer could hold for Chelsea, the Czech goalkeeper is adamant the squad’s aim to capitalise on their last chance for silverware and make up for their shock exit in the Champions League group stages with a win over Benfica.
"Winning back-to-back European trophies, it would be a great story, with more or less the same circumstances, having to change the manager during the course of the season again. Hopefully it will be the same end," he said.
"We were very disappointed with our campaign in the Champions League. We said the best way to forget about it was to have a go and try to go as far as possible in the Europa League.
"It would be great to add that trophy to the trophy room. We need to get over the last hurdle. I have a great feeling."
Cech also paid tribute to Benitez, who has been the target of much censure from the Chelsea faithful since his appointment in November.
"It was not easy for him, with the reception he got," he added.
"But he came here to help and to improve the situation for us and to do as best as possible. That is what we did, what he did, what the coaching staff did.
"This is maybe the reason why it's worked so far and we're in the Europa League final."
