The Arsenal boss is confident ahead of the north London derby, arguing that his side carry more goal threat than their rivals while insisting that he has no plan for the Spurs star

Arsene Wenger has played down the threat of Gareth Bale ahead of Arsenal's clash with Tottenham on Sunday, arguing that the number of potential goalscorers for the Gunners will cause problems for Spurs.

The Welshman goes into the game having netted nine goals in his last seven games, one of the most in-form players in the Premier League.

However, Wenger told reporters of the dangerous goal threat which Arsenal pose, arguing: "I feel we can score from many positions and I prefer that, personally. You will tell me, ideally you want both.

"But we have many players who can score. [Theo] Walcott can score, [Olivier] Giroud can score, [Santi] Cazorla can score, I think [Jack] Wilshere will score as well, so we have many players. [Lukas] Podolski can score, so we have many players.

"I think we are harder to set up against than Tottenham. I think we have scored more goals than last year and last year our efficiency was always depending on [Robin] van Persie and I always worried about the day Van Persie gets injured."

The Gunners boss admits, however, that Bale will pose a stern test for his side.

"He has good pace, at the moment he has a good conversion rate between the chances he creates and the goals he scores," Wenger added.

"That is quite cyclical. Will he play like this forever? No. To maintain that percentage - at the moment I think it's certainly the best in Europe between in terms of conversion rate and chances created - is very, very difficult but of course he has good pace, a good shot and his pace is an advantage to use well his shot.

"But we don't plan for anybody. He is not a subject of our worries for the next two or three days. We have great players in our team and it would be a complete mistake to focus on any [one] player from Tottenham."
