The English football governing body have written to both managers asking them to explain their recent criticism of match officials Chris Foy and Kevin FriendPremier League managers Harry Redknapp and Roberto Mancini have been contacted by the Football Association over their recent remarks regarding referees.
Both coaches made critical comments about the performance of match officials after watching their sides slump to Boxing Day defeats and the FA have responded by writing to the pair.
QPR boss Redknapp was angered by Chris Foy’s failure to rule out West Brom’s second goal and award the Rs a last-minute penalty as his side lost at Loftus Road, while Manchester City boss Mancini accused Kevin Friend of missing a foul in the build up to Sunderland’s winning goal in a 1-0 defeat.
The FA have confirmed to Goal.com that they contacted both bosses and will decide on a course of action after receiving the expected responses from the pair.
QPR are currently bottom of the Premier League after Wednesday’s defeat to West Brom, while Manchester City sit second after falling seven points behind rivals Manchester United.
