Villas-Boas keen for his Tottenham side to make it five wins out of five

The Spurs boss feels his team can take something away from Goodison Park against Everton, despite playing in Europe in midweek, knowing that a win will take them to joint third

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas feels that his side can get a result when they take on Everton in the Premier League on Sunday, as they aim to make it five wins out of five in all competitions.

Three defeats on the spin at the start of November saw the Spurs fans booing the former Chelsea manager but impressive wins against West Ham, Liverpool and Fulham have lifted the north London club back into Champions League contention, with a 3-1 triumph over Panathinaikos ensuring their progression in the Europa League.

Villas-Boas is delighted with how the side have responded of late but is aware that things can change quickly, despite hearing fans sing his praises.

"There is empathy [between fans and manager] but the empathy is created by the fact that the team has changed fortunes recently and we have got the results," he told reporters.

"Really the fans are the best critic of your performances. At the moment the criticism is positive because we are on a good run but everything can change.

"In this business you go from being the best to being donkeys very, very quickly. That is the nature of the game and that is the nature of football management. We just hope that at the end of the season we are able to sing each other's names. I prefer them to sing the players' names and push the team on."

Sunday sees Tottenham travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton, who can leapfrog them into fourth place with a win of their own, and Villas-Boas knows that his side face a tough task if they are to come away with anything against David Moyes' men.

"[Goodison Park] is one of the most difficult grounds to go to [while] they are fully rested but we have played in midweek," he noted.

"But we want to do well and take something out of there and continue with the momentum we have going."
