Warnock hopes Chelsea 'get done' if Clattenburg claims are false

Warnock hopes Chelsea 'get done' if Clattenburg claims are false

Latest Fellaini: Premier League referees are biased towards English players Previous

The Leeds boss has jumped to the referee's defence and accused the Blues of trying to 'kill him' for sending Fernando Torres off during the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock wants Chelsea to face serious repercussions if the accusations levelled towards referee Mark Clattenburg are proven to be untrue, believing it to be a case of sour grapes.

Clattenburg is alleged to have used 'inappropriate language' towards Blues midfielders Jon-Obi Mikel and Juan Mata during the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United, but Warnock is convinced that Roberto Di Matteo's men are looking for someone to blame after Chicharito's late winner ended their unbeaten start to the season.

Despite admitting that the Durham-born official was wrong to send Fernando Torres off for diving following a challenge from Johnny Evans, the Leeds boss is "disgusted" by the west London club's conduct and wants them brought to justice should their claims turn out to be false.

5/4 Chelsea are 5/4 with bet365 to beat Manchester United
"I'm disgusted at what has gone on. I am on Mark Clattenburg's side," he told talkSPORT.

"We ask referees to deal with it and man-manage and that's what he does Clattenburg. I'm sure he might have said a few things but if Chelsea had won that game there would not have been one iota of a complaint.

"I think he's made a mistake [in sending off Torres] but Chelsea are trying to kill him because of that and I don't agree with it at all.

"If it is proved wrong whatever Chelsea players alleged that Mark said, I hope they get done. Would it have happened if they won the game? I don't think it would have done."
