|10'||Replays show that Clyne won the ball cleanly, but Aguero's leg seemed to become trapped between the legs of the Southampton player after the ball was played. The stretcher is on, and the striker's afternoon looks to have come to a close.|
City boss Roberto Mancini will be hoping that Aguero is not missing for too long after his starring role in the Etihad Stadium club's successful previous season.
The forward scored 23 goals in 34 league games in 2011-12, his debut year in English football, including the injury-time finish that dramatically secured their domestic crown on the final day.
City are said to be hopeful that the injury is not as bad as first feared, with the inflammation quelled by half-time, though the 24-year-old will undergo a precautionary scan.
Edin Dzeko was brought on to replace Aguero in the City XI and the Bosnian scored the equaliser to make it 2-2 in a thrilling second half, Samir Nasri going on to seal the three points for Mancini's men.
