Javi Garcia is not joining Manchester City, says agent
The Premier League champions have been linked with the Spain international following an impressive three years at Benfica, but no move is imminent according to his representative
The agent of Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia has insisted that he has not received any proposals for his client, despite reports linking him with Manchester City.
The one-time Spain international has been linked as a potential replacement for Nigel de Jong, with reports suggesting the Netherlands international could be moving elsewhere after falling out of favour with manager Roberto Mancini.
However, following reports in Portugal claiming a City move for the former Real Madrid man could be imminent, Manuel Garcia Quillon, the player’s representative, has slammed the stories.

Talking to A Bola, Quillon said: "I have had no contact from [Manchester] City. No-one has called me.
"I have no proposal from England about Javi. He renewed with Benfica and we have nothing more to say.
“We do not have any club interested in him. He will continue at Benfica."
Garcia played 22 times in the league for Benfica last season, and made his first appearance for Spain in May of this year, playing in the 2-0 win over Serbia in the build-up to Euro 2012.
