The Belgium international insists his side are capable of beating any opponent in the Vicente Calderon - even the reigning European champions
Thibaut Courtois says Atletico Madrid are good enough to stun Champions League holders Bayern Munich if they are drawn against the Bundesliga side in the quarter-finals of the competition.
The Belgium international, who is on loan at Atletico from Chelsea, played an important role as los Colchoneros eased into the last-eight after beating Milan 4-0 in the Vicente Calderon on Tuesday (5-1 on aggregate).
And Courtois is confident his side will put up a good fight against any opponent they meet in the quarter-finals - even reigning European champions Bayern.
He said:"Bayern are so strong now, they are winning everything in Germany. But we can play any team now and they will suffer in the Vicente Calderon.
"Hopefully we can move on to semis, but there are still many games ahead.”
The goalkeeper was asked if there was anything in his loan deal which prevented him from playing against his parent club should they meet in the next round.
"I do not think I have a clause not to play against Chelsea. It would be a great game," he added.
The youngster's promising displays have seen him linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks, but he dismissed the rumours as a way for people to unsettle him and his temporary employers.
"I do not think Chelsea will sell me," he said after beating AC Milan 4-1 with Atletico. "I have a contract for two more years.
