The 34-year-old veteran goalscorer is still a regular in Joachim Low’s squad and scored his 65th goal for Germany in their 6-1 rout of Republic of Ireland on Friday.
With the 2014 World Cup 18 months away, Klose is hoping he can stay in peak condition to ensure he has the best possible chance of being involved in Brazil.
The Lazio striker told reporters: "The somersault... I think I can still do it but I honestly do not want to risk it because I want to still be around in 2014."
Klose is only three behind Gerd Muller as Germany all-time top goalscorer, but the former Bayern Munich forward refused to accept comparisons with the national legend.
"I would never compare myself to Gerd Muller," the 125-times capped Klose insisted.
"You should not compare him with any other striker around. What he achieved is incomparable. I have told him that myself a few times. It is a joke to be compared to him!"
