The Chelsea midfielder celebrated his strike at the ground of former rivals Gremio by pointing to the pitch and shouting "I'm here" during the 3-0 win over France

Chelsea star Oscar has expressed his delight after scoring the first goal for Brazil in a 3-0 friendly win over France.

In the Selecao's final warm-up game ahead of the Confederations Cup, the midfielder opened the scoring in the 54th minute by slotting the ball past Tottenham and les Bleus goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The win marked Brazil's first victory over France since 1992, and Oscar feels it was the perfect preparation ahead of Saturday's tournament opener against Japan.

"At half-time we talked about continuing to playing in the same manner and the goal would come," Oscar told reporters after the game.

"This result is so important to give confidence to the team for the Confederations Cup."

The match took place at the Gremio Arena in Porto Alegre, which did not stop the former Internacional player - who are rivals to Gremio - from pointing to the pitch and shouting "I'm here, I'm here" when celebrating his goal.

"I told my wife that if I was to score a goal at Porto Alegre I would say I am from here," the 21-year-old explained.
