The 25-year-old recently won his fourth straight Ballon d'Or, and broke Gerd Muller's 40-year strong record of 85 goals in a single calendar year.
"He's the best player in the world. He's more than a player, he's an incredible athlete, who always looks for new challenges," he told Svenska Dagbladet.
Looking ahead to Wednesday's clash, Sabella went on to say that he is expecting a tough clash against the Swedes.
"Sweden will be very well organised," he commented.
Meanwhile, Blagult boss Erik Hamren claimed that his side were approaching the clash with a mixture of fear and excitement.
"The game will be a mixture of pleasure and terror. If we have a bad day we could concede a lot of goals. It will be a challenge."
