thumbnail Hello,

The highly-rated defender has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United, but is determined to focus on international duty before discussing a possible Lille departure

Lille defender Mathieu Debuchy has revealed he will decide his future after France’s Euro 2012 campaign.

The 26-year-old impressed in his country’s 1-1 draw against England and has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United as well as Italian giants Inter and Roma.

Magpies boss Alan Pardew looks poised to strengthen his squad ahead of their Europa League campaign next season and could move for Debuchy, with current right-back Danny Simpson’s long-term future at the club thought to be in doubt.

Should Debuchy make a move to Tyneside he would join France team-mates Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa.

However despite all the speculation Debuchy has refused to be drawn on where he plans to play next season, insisting he is fully focused on helping France progress in Poland and Ukraine.

"Right now, I'm focused on the Euros," Debuchy told L'Equipe. "I have wishes, but we will discuss them later."

Debuchy has made 218 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille, scoring 15 goals and recently stated a desire to play in England.
