Lille boss Rudi Garcia has hailed his side after their 2-1 win against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, but claims they will not get ahead of themselves despite cementing their place in the third Champions League spot in Ligue 1.

An Eden Hazard penalty and a late strike from substitute Nolan Roux gave Les Douges the three points, but Garcia will not let his squad rest on their laurels.

“We now have four cup finals to play,” the 48-year-old said in his post-match press conference. “We knew the gap at the top [of the table] could be cut, but for now we're focusing only on our difficult game at Nice in midweek.”

“We were strong mentally, especially as the way the second half was going. We didn't panic after conceding early in the half. We showed cool heads to turn around the situation, and this result is a good step towards the Champions League.”

Garcia then went on to praise match-winner Roux: “Nolan did us a lot of good as a substitute as he started to get in behind their defence and stretch their back line.”

The three points for LOSC take them eight clear of Stade Rennes in fourth and just two behind PSG with four games of the season remaining.
