The Ligue 1 side were drawn against the Bavarian giants in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with the first leg in France on March 28.
Ribery represented Marseille for two seasons between 2005 and 2007, and the former Juventus trainer feels that his homecoming may be tricky.
"It is not easy to come back to play in your country, and even more against a team that you have worn the jersey," the 43-year-old told RMC Sport.
"On the psychological level, it is not easy to manage. It's special because it's the kind of game where you feel like breaking everything."
Marseille qualified to the last eight of Europe's top club competition by knocking out Inter, while Bayern dispatched of Basel.
