The Germany international has stressed that his playing style relies on efficiency rather than putting on a show, and underlined the importance of team workBayern Munich attacker Thomas Muller has stated that his approach to football is simple and effective rather than flashy and eye-pleasing.
The 23-year-old netted nine goals and provided seven assists in 16 Bundesliga appearances in the first half of the season, and he believes that his efficient style of playing is the reason for his success.
"Whenever I go somewhere and a little child asks me to show some tricks, I have to say: 'I don't know any tricks!'," Muller told Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitungen.
"They always want to see some kind of wizardry, ball-juggling, turning around four times, that kind of thing. But this never was my speciality.
"My game is based on efficiency. I'm not a player who is enjoyable to watch for 90 minutes.
"I am more of a team player, a player who is important for the whole team and goes after the result. I do not play to put on a great show."
Bayern Munich currently top the Bundesliga standings with 42 points, nine ahead of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, and will face Arsenal in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
