thumbnail Hello,

The BVB supremo is looking to end the Bavarians' title ambitions in the direct confrontation between the two teams on Wednesday, and had a word on his side's campaign so far

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke is confident that the German champions will successfully defend their title if they manage to beat Bayern Munich in their upcoming Bundesliga encounter.

BVB currently hold a three-point lead over their rivals with five more games to go, and the supremo is hopeful that Dortmund will decide the title race at the Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday.

"We will not let the Bundesliga title get away from us any more if we beat Bayern in the direct confrontation," Watzke said to Spox.

Watzke then went on to say that Dortmund's season is already a success after a consistent year.

"We currently have 66 points, exactly as many as last year at this point. That alone is already a fantastic performance."

Wednesday's meeting in Dortmund kicks off at 20.00CET.
