Inter want me, claims Schalke starlet Julian Draxler
The Serie A side have expressed interest in the young winger, but the player does not yet wish to leave the club where he has played since 2001
Italian giants Inter are keen to sign Schalke youngster Julian Draxler, the player has revealed. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder made his Bundesliga debut last January, and has since seen his stock climb significantly. And according to the player, he is in high demand among some of Europe's top teams.
"My agent informed me that Inter have shown interest," Draxler told Sport-Bild. "It's a great feeling and new for me. I am tremendously honoured by such a thing.
"I've read that Arsenal have interest in me. That made me very happy."
However, the player, who is tied to Schalke until 2016, revealed he has no intention to leave Gelsenkirchen in the near future.
"I've only been a professional for a year and would like to establish myself," he said. "My heart is here at Schalke, and I do not think for one second about a change, because I see my future at Schalke. I didn't sign until 2016 for nothing."
Draxler has made 32 appearances for the club since his debut on January 15, 2011. A Germany under-21 international, he was the fourth-youngest player to appear in the Bundesliga.
