Simone Pepe to undergo operation after injury setback
The Italy international will go under the knife to try and end his injury hell, though it is unlikely he will figure again for Antonio Conte's team this season
Juventus midfielder Simone Pepe is set to undergo an operation to attempt to rectify a quadriceps injury, though reports suggest he could now miss the remainder of the term. The Italy international has been restricted to just 20 minutes of action this campaign after a horrendous run of bad luck which has seen him suffer a number of injury setbacks.
Now he has revealed he is to undergo surgery to hopefully end his nightmare.
"We are currently trying to solve some problems I have had," he told Sky Sports Italia.
"Luckily I have received the support of my team-mates and the fans. I want to thank them because I wouldn't have been able to carry on without them.
"I have relapsed four times in my rehabilitation, so I think there will have to be a small operation.
"Hopefully, once that's done, I can return to playing as soon as possible."The 29-year-old made his only Serie A appearance in the 0-0 draw with Lazio in November.
