Zanetti: Inter aim to battle for the Scudetto right until the end
The Argentine defender is hopeful of challenging Juventus for the Serie A title this term, but realises the Giuseppe Meazza outfit are not the only contenders
Javier Zanetti has insisted that Inter will fight for the title right until the end of the season, even though he admits that the Nerazzurri face stiff competition in the Scudetto race. The Giuseppe Meazza side climbed to second spot in the league table following their 2-1 win over Napoli at the weekend, and Zanetti is determined to keep up their current form for the remainder of the 2012-13 campaign.
"Our aim is to battle for the Scudetto right down to the wire. We want to be in the running until the very end," Zanetti said at a charity event.
"This Inter team has always had its own identity, even when we lost. And after a defeat we've accepted it and moved on.
"The path ahead isn't easy but we'll fight to try and stay up there. The title race isn't just about us and Juventus though: Roma, Lazio and Fiorentina are all in with a shout."
Inter resume Serie A action away against Lazio on Saturday.
