AC Milan join race for Strootman - report

The Netherlands international has previously been linked with clubs such as Manchester United and Inter, and has now caught the Rossoneri's attention as well
Kevin Strootman could be on his way out of PSV in the summer transfer window as AC Milan have shown an interest in signing the Netherlands international ahead of the 2012-13 campaign, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Milan are set to undergo a squad overhaul especially in midfield following the departure of players such as Gennaro Gattuso, Mark van Bommel and Clarence Seedorf, and they see the 22-year-old Strootman as the perfect addition to their squad.

Strootman joined PSV from Utrecht in the summer of 2011, and has since developed into a key player at the KNVB Beker winners.

The Dutchman has a contract until June 2016 and an offer in the region of €15 million could be needed to lure him away from the Eredivisie giants.

The Rossoneri have already secured the services of Riccardo Montolivo and Bakaye Traore for next season.
