The Brazilian full-back sustained a knee problem in Wendesday's Champions League loss, and could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines for the struggling giants

Inter coach Claudio Ranieri has received some worrying news on the injury front in the aftermath of his side's 1-0 Champions League round of 16 first leg loss against Olympique de Marseille on Wednesday, as he will possibly have to make do without Maicon for a while due to a knee injury.

The Brazilian full-back featured from the start in the match against the Stade Velodrome outfit, but was forced to stay behing in the dressing room at half-time due to physical problems.

It is not yet exactly known how long the former Monaco defender will be out of action, but Inter fear that Maicon faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Sky Sport Italia reports that the 30-year-old will visit the hospital on Thursday to undergo further examinations, and it appears to be very unlikely that Maicon will be available for Sunday's Serie A match away against Napoli.
