The Spain forward concedes that the Blaugrana took their foot off the pedal midway through last season, while he is excited about playing with Neymar
The Blaugrana eased towards the Spanish title, finishing 15 points clear of nearest challengers Real Madrid, but the forward has suggested that the runaway nature of their triumph could have ultimately cost them.
"Maybe halfway through the season, when we were several points ahead, it seemed that the title was practically won and it wasn't given so much importance," he said at a press conference.
"With all due respect, other lesser competitions were given more importance, but the league shows who the most consistent team of the season are.
"It was a huge achievement, with 100 points and a lot of goals. We’re very happy with it."Pedro then spoke of his optimism at being handed the opportunity to play alongside Neymar before lamenting Victor Valdes' desire to leave the club and touting Liverpool's Pepe Reina as a replacement.
"[Neymar]'s one of the best players in the world. It'll be a pleasure to have him at Barca. Let's hope he adapts as quickly as possible and can make the most of all his qualities.
"It’s very bad news [about Valdes leaving]. He has been at Barca for many years. For me, he's the best in the world. He’s a person who has a lot of influence in the dressing room.
"It’s a shame that he’s leaving, that he has made this decision. After all he has done for the team, we have to support him. I wish him the best, wherever he goes."
"[Reina] has had a very good season, both here and with Liverpool. He’s a very dependable keeper and would be a good replacement."
The 25-year-old also revealed that he expects both Real Madrid and shot-stopper Iker Casillas to bounce back next season after spending the tail end of the season on the bench.
"[Real Madrid] are always competitive, with very good players. They always have a great team, that's why they're difficult to beat," he continued."[Iker] seems up for it. He has gone through a tricky situation, but his track record speaks for itself. We're all with him and we're happy that he's happy with us. These things happen in football, but Iker is a great."
