Valencia defender Victor Ruiz has admitted that he does not enjoy the negative reaction from fans ahead of Saturday’s La Liga match against Levante.
Los Che were 2-0 down to relegation candidates Zaragoza before a Jonas double spared the blushes of the Costa Blanca club to earn them a point at La Romareda.
And Ruiz, who had a hand in Jonas' second goal, believes the supporters negativity is helping no one.
“Nobody likes it and it’s not a nice thing,” Ruiz told a press conference, “Everyone can express themselves as they like, but it isn’t at all pleasant.”
The Spaniard has been employed in a deep-lying midfield role for most of the season, and is looking forward to returning to his preferred position as injuries are likely to rule out Adil Rami and Ricardo Costa.
Ruiz has made 17 league appearances for los Che this season, and the club currently find themselves one point behind fourth-placed Malaga going into Saturday’s match at the Mestalla.
The defender also commented on Levante’s Obafemi Martins, who is rumoured to be moving to MLS.
“Martins is an important player for them,” he said. “However, they have a great team and have been doing well for years. We will have to be focused against them.”
