The defender was left out of Vicente Del Bosque's squad for Spain's friendly against Venezuela, but this is of no concern to the Portuguese trainer
The former Valencia defender has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at the Santiago Bernabeu this year, and was omitted from Vicente Del Bosque's selection to face Venezuela on Wednesday.
However, the Portuguese trainer openly announced that the player's international chances are not his problem, and that he has not spoken to Albiol over the matter.
"Albiol's selection problem is not mine," he stated in a press conference in the lead up to Sunday's fixture against Rayo Vallecano.
"I wish all my players to be happy, but international selection is not my business.
“Albiol and I have not had any conversation about whether he should play more or less," said Mourinho.
