Tony Pulis is holding showdown talks with Crystal Palace and could leave the club before their Premier League season opener against Arsenal on Saturday, Goal understands.

The 56-year-old has become dismayed by the lack of available transfer funds this summer and is ready to quit Selhurst Park if discussions with Palace co-chairman Steve Parish are not progressive.

Pulis, who was named as the Premier League’s manager of the year in May after guiding Palace to an 11th-placed finish, has clashed with Parish on a number of occasions over the club’s transfer strategy.

Palace have signed four players this summer but only Fraizer Campbell and Martin Kelly have been cash purchases, with Chris Kettings and Brede Hangeland both arriving as free transfers.

Pulis took training on Thursday but is now in talks with Parish over Palace’s recruitment policy before the transfer window closes.
