The 30-year-old is nearing a move to the Turkish side according to his agent, after revealing his intentions to leave Benfica this summer
The Paraguay international, who scored 31 goals in all competitions for the Portuguese side last season, has been linked with Manchester City and Cardiff in recent weeks, but a switch to Fener is appearing most likely for the striker.
“The negotiations between the two clubs are going well and the agreement is practically closed,” Pedro Aldave told Fanatik.
“There are only a few details to be resolved.
“His signing could come at any time.”
Benfica have already bolstered their attacking options in the transfer market, signing forward Lazar Markovic from Partizan, winger Miralem Sulejmani from Ajax and midfielder Filip Djuricic from Heerenveen.
Cardozo’s contract expires with the Eagles in the summer of 2016.
