Emre set to join Atletico Madrid - report

The experienced midfielder could be on his way out of Fenerbahce as he is close to signing a deal with the Primera Division side
Emre Belozoglu could be joining Europa League champions Atletico Madrid on a free transfer this summer, according to Hurriyet.

The 31-year-old, who has been embroiled in a racism scandal following an incident with Trabzonspor midfielder Didier Zokora, is said to be unhappy in Turkey amid the controversy generated.

The former Newcastle and Inter man could soon pen a contract with the Madrid side, who are looking to add experienced names to their depleted numbers in central midfield.

Sources close to the player and his agent had previously suggested that Los Rojiblancos were interested in the Turkey international, whose contract at Fenerbahce expires in the summer.
