thumbnail Hello,

The Liverpool attacker has been selected in Chris Coleman's squad following his appearance in Gary Speed's memorial match against Costa Rica in February

Craig Bellamy's international career looks set to be extended after he was named in the Wales squad to face Mexico in America later this month.

It had been rumoured that the 32 year old's appearance for his country during Gary Speed's Memorial match against Costa Rica in February would be his last.

But his inclusion in manager Chris Coleman's first squad means it is likely that Bellamy will add to his current tally of 68 caps.

Elsewhere James Collins, Danny Gabbidon and Robert Earnshaw are noticeable absentees from the squad that will be flying out to New Jersey.

Wayne Hennessey is also missing after suffering a torn cruciate ligament, with Chelsea's Rhys Taylor called in to take his place.

Wales will be the underdogs going into the match at the MetLife Stadium with opponents Mexico currently lying in 20th place in the Fifa World rankings, 21 places above the Dragons.

Star players Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey will look to help cause an upset and in doing so provide their new manager with his first win.

The encounter with the Mexicans is the first of two friendlies for Coleman's team before they begin their World Cup campaign against Belgium in September.
