Chelsea saw off a late Liverpool fightback to claim their sixth FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday.

Ramires gave the Blues the lead after just 11 minutes when he exploited hesitancy in the Reds defence to run through on goal and hammer the goal past Pepe Reina, with Didier Drogba adding a second after the break to claim a record fourth FA Cup final goal, and his eighth in eight appearances at Wembley.

However, with the introduction of Andy Carroll, Liverpool, who were previously lifeless, turned the corner when the tall striker powered a smart finish into the roof of Petr Cech’s net after neat footwork.

The £35 million man thought he had levelled matters with eight minutes remaining, but the referee and his assistant had deemed that the entire ball had not scored the line, with replays inconclusive, and Goal.com is on hand to give you all the best tweets from footballers around the country as the 90 minutes played out.

"Anything else on tv I can watch for 90 mins?"

Everton captain - and former Manchester United man - Phil Neville nails his loyalty to the mast.

"Ramires is the man at the minute"

Southampton's Adam Lallana talks up the Brazil international, who opened the scoring in the first half.

"Great goal from Ramires, what a player."

And Emmanuel Adebayor is quick to praise the Chelsea midfielder as well.

"How is my boy Raheem Sterling not involved today for Liverpool ?! #Whatsgoingon!!!"

Birmingham youngster Nathan Redmond thought the promising teenager might be involved at Wembley Stadium.

"That was a bad first half. Hope a little more excitement the 2end half"

Former Chelsea player and manager Ruud Gullit is less than impressed by what the first 45 minutes had to offer.

"This guy is on fire!!! #drogbaaaaaa"

But after the break, Blues midfielder Josh McEachran, on loan at Swansea City, doesn't have to wait long to celebrate Didier Drogba's goal.

"Please just give Drogba the Vip suite as his private lounge cause we know where is his garden. #Wembley #Facupfinal"

Louis Saha thinks the Ivory Coast striker should pitch up at England's home of football after stretching his impressive goal record.

"I think Carroll could change this game!! He will help Suarez I think!! It might be a bit to late tho!! I would of started him!"

Reading forward Noel Hunt anticipate's the Liverpool striker's impact on the game.

"To all u Carroll haters out there take that #shushhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

And Barry Bannan knocks back the critics on the former Newcastle man's behalf following the striker's goal.

"Game On.....Delighted for Carroll!!"

Seasoned professional Jason Roberts shows Carroll support under a mixed start to his Anfield career.

"That's as good as a goal that save. #goaliesunion"

West Brom shot stopper Ben Foster reacts as Petr Cech keeps Chelsea in front with his save from a late Carroll header.

"Great comeback effort from Liverpool. Great final. Congratulations to Chelsea for winning the #FACup Final."

Chelsea hold on, and Vincent Kompany is one of the first to congratulate the Blues.

"Great game to watch. Congratulations to Chelsea. RDM is getting the best out of the team. Unlucky to Liverpool they finished the game strong"

While Tim Cahill offers his club Everton's rivals his condolences.
