thumbnail Hello,

The stage is set for the two teams left standing in Europe to battle it out for the most coveted prize in club football, and Goal.com readers believe the Germans have an advantage

Bayern Munich and Chelsea pulled off what many thought was impossible in this season's Champions League when they eliminated heavy pre-tournament favourites Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

Their reward is a shot at the ultimate prize: the European Cup.

The Bavarian giants and the Blues have both faltered once before in the final in recent years, but on May 19 at the Allianz Arena, the two clubs will have a chance to atone for their missed opportunity.

With the two Spanish frontrunners gone, who between Bayern and Chelsea are the favourites? Following the conclusion of the semi-finals on Wednesday, Goal.com asked our readers who they think will claim the 2011-12 Champions League crown.

BAYERN MUNICH - 56.71%

What do Madrid, Inter and Bayern have in common? The latter two did play in the Spanish capital in the 2010 Champions League final. But more importantly, the Bavarians can join Los Blancos and the Nerazzurri in becoming just the third side in the history of the European Cup to lift the trophy in their own stadium. Can Jupp Heynckes' men join that elite club? A total of 3743 votes favoured Bayern to claim glory in the final on May 19 and join another exclusive group of history-makers: becoming five-time European champions.

CHELSEA - 43.29%

What do Roberto Di Matteo and Avram Grant have in common? They both succeeded high-profile, expensive Portuguese managers and took Chelsea to the Champions League final. While Grant - after replacing Jose Mourinho - stumbled at the final hurdle to Manchester United in Moscow in 2008, Di Matteo, like Heynckes, has a chance to etch his name into the club's history books. And 2858 of the votes believe that the Italian can go one better and take the Blues to the winner's podium and become a first-time European champion.
