Injured Guarin misses out on Jose Pekerman's first Colombia squad

The Inter man is expected to rejoin training in the next week, but has been left out of the Argentine's debut plans as Gio Moreno is given a chance to shine in midfield
Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin is the highest-profile absence of new Colombia coach Jose Pekerman's first international squad, as the injured star is left out of the list of men who will take on Mexico.

The former Porto player, who is yet to make his debut for the Italians after suffering a calf injury, was expected to be ready to return around February 24, but has been left out as a precaution as the new Argentine coach prepares for February 29's friendly in Miami.

Aside from Guarin, Pekerman takes a strong-looking squad to the United States. Racing Club playmaker Gio Moreno returns to the fold after being overlooked by former trainer Leonel Alvarez, and rejoins club team-mate Teofilo Gutierrez in the 22-man squad.

There is also a place for Atletico Madrid's Radamel Falcao, who had missed out on the Cafetero's qualifying clash Argentina due to injury.
