Killian Brennan, Anto Flood, and Jake Kelly were on target as the league leaders ran out comfortable victors at Richmond Park
The hosts had the better of the early stages with Ian Bermingham testing Blues goalkeeper Barry Ryan in the second minute, but the two sides took a while to properly settle into the game. Chris Forrester went close after a great solo run on 23 minutes, with Christy Fagan also threatening for the home side.
Pat's took the lead just before half-time as Killian Brennan capitalised on a weak back pass from Stephen Folan to blast the ball beyond Barry Ryan from 25 yards.
Ryan did well to keep out Jake Kelly early in the second-half, but could not close down Anto Flood quick enough on 57 minutes, as the substitute took the ball around him and fired home. Pat's were unlucky not to add to their lead when Conor Kenna's effort was cleared off the line, while Anto Flood went close to scoring his second, only to see his shot hit the post.
Barry Ryan pulled off an impressive double save in stoppage time to deny Flood and Kelly in stoppage time, but Kelly finally got his named on the scoresheet in the 93rd minute with a simple tap-in.
The Saints looked comfortable in possession for most of the game, and manager Liam Buckley will be pleased with his side's performance as they stayed on track for the title.
