Goals from Mark Quigley and Ronan Finn gave the Hoops a narrow win over rivals Shelbourne

Shamrock Rovers defeated 10 man Shelbourne in a close Dublin Derby, with Mark Quigley and Ronan Finn on target for the visitors, while Dean Kelly scored for Shels before Robert Cornwall was sent off.

The Hoops took an early lead, with Mark Quigley netting after just 13 minutes. Ronan Finn doubled the lead as Shels started slowly at Tolka Park. Dean Kelly pulled a goal back for the hosts from the spot, but Shelbourne could not find a second goal.
