FULL TIME: MILAN 1-3 FIORENTINA! The hosts' struggles continue as a spirited Viola put the Rossoneri to the sword. Aquilani and Valero put the visitors ahead in the second half, with Pazzini pulling one back early in the second half. Fiorentina had the last word however, as El Hamdaoui curled home a stunner. Thanks for joining me, and stick with Goal.com for all your post-match correspondence!
90' + 2'
Fiorentina seeing this one out now, as the visiting supporters began their celebrations.
90' + 1'
Fernandez nearly puts El Hamdaoui through with a cheeky lob, but Mexes just gets a head to it.
90' + 1'
Into extra time, of which there will be three minutes.
Boateng looks to salvage something with a long range effort, but it's well wide.
There was always going to be another goal scored here, with Milan putting plenty of bodies forward. Fiorenti proved more clinical however, and as a result have restored their two-goal lead.
GoalMounir El Hamdaoui
MILAN ESCAPE! Cassani is left with only Abbiati to beat off a Fernandez through ball, but the subtitute can only hit the post! Should score!
Pizzaro wastes a promising piece of play there, as he cannot decide whether to shoot or cross, and in the end, he does neither.
Bonera looks to have suffered a hamstring strain, but the hosts are out of substitutions and the defender will have to see it out.
It was Rancoglia that got in the way of that effort with such temerity. He might need a panadol or two before bed tonight, that was a rifle of an effort - and looked on target, too.
Boateng! The ball drops to the midfielder some 20 yards out, and his bullet of a volley is blocked by the head of a very brave defender!
Ten minutes remaining here as Milan search for an equaliser.
El Shaarawy sends in a cross from the right, but Viviano collects - with both hands, this time.
End to end action again! El Hamdaoui is crowded out in the penalty box, before a Milan counter nearly puts Pazzini through.
Bojan looks to make something happen in the centre of the pitch, but his teammates weren't on the same wavelength.
El Hamdaoui nearly gets on the end of a flick through, but Abbiati comes charging out and collects.
It nearly does too! The ball falls to Cuadrado on the edge of the area, who can only fire wide when he really should do better.
Fiorentina win a corner, it would be a hammer blow for Milan if these found its way in...
The visitors make a change of their own, as Luca Toni makes way for Cassani. The visitors looking to see this one out, now.
And he does, as Ambrosini makes way for the former Manchester City man.
El Hamdaoui looks to put Cuadrado through with a sneaky ball in, but it's too soft and Milan have it back. Robinho looks set to come on here...
Ooohh a Milan counter nearly leads to an equaliser! Bojan breaks forward and just picks out El Shaarawy, who sends in a cross which Pazzini just can't get to. End to end stuff at the San Siro now!
Milan sends in a corner, and Viviano comes out with the most acrobatic of punches to clear. It looked amusing, but it was hardly conventional.
Final 20 minutes now, and Milan reamain in contention to get a result here.
Fernandez takes the free kick, but curls it over the bar.
Mexes concedes a foul and goes in the referee's book, and in all fairness it was needed to stem a potent counter from Toni and El Hamdaoui.
Yellow CardPhilippe Mexes
Ohh good play. Boateng plays a one-two with De Sciglio, who sends in a low cross which is cleared by Roncaglia.
Threatening play from Fiorentina there, as a clever pass from El Hamdaoui allows Cuadrado to charge at goal. Bonera is there however, and Abbiati can collect.
Aquilani has come off, under plenty of jeers from the home side.
Constant remained down clutching his face for a while, but seems fine to play on now. The free kick is eventually taken by Montolivo, and Boateng can't get a good head to it.
Yellow CardAlberto Aquilani
Aquilani is booked for a foul on Constant, a tactical decision perhaps as the full-back was breaking forward in stride.
Roncaglia beats Bojan to a lofted ball, a good piece of anticipation from the centre-back.
Yellow CardMassimo Ambrosini
Milan very much back in it now, and the Fiorentina might need another goal if they are to win here tonight.
GOOOAAAAL PAZZINI! The initial corner comes to nothing, but the ball finds itself to El Shaarawy. The Egyptian puts it back in, Mexes hits the post with a flicked backheel, and Pazzini is on hand to slam home the rebound! Game on!
Savic puts it behind, and Milan have a corner.
El Hamdaoui, who has only just entered the pitch, fails to hold up possession with three Milan jerseys crowding him out.
CLOSE! Pazzini just fails to connect with a dangerous delivery, when he perhaps should have scored.
Mounir El Hamdaoui
Pazzini concedes a foul as he looks to get to a long ball in the centre of the pitch a tad too scrappily.
Boateng sends in a powerful cross from the right, but Fiorentina are set up well and Rodriguez clears.
El Shaarawy looks to put Bojan through on the flank with a bicycle pass, but the Spaniard can't get to it and it's out for a throw.
Milan mounting a little more pressure now, as they go in search of a lifeline.
Close! Montolivo rises to head in the cross as the corner is played short, but it eeks past the post. Let-off for the Viola there.
Bojan does well to get past Cuadrado, but his final ball is lacking and it's out for a corner.
But that too, comes to nothing. Montolivo crosses it in, but Viviano is equal to it and collects confidently.
Fiorentina looks settled, as Milan are chasing the game. Boateng wins a free kick on the flank.
Cuadrado sends in a cross, but he was off balance and the ball flies straight behind the goal.
Massimiliano has brought on Bojan and Pazzini for the second half, with Emanuelson and Pato coming off.
Welcome back to Goal.com's live coverage of today's Serie A match between Milan and Fiorentina. The hosts are currently two goals down, as they set the ball rolling for the second half.
So, the visitors lead by two goals to none courtesy of an Aquilani finish and a moment of magic from Valero. Will Milan find a way back into this? We will find out in 15 minutes!
Halftime! No stoppage time as Milan go into the break two goals down.
Boateng! The Ghanian gets to a Montolivo cutback but is denied by Pizarro. Good movement from the hosts, if only briefly.
Emanuelson looks to put Montolivo in on goal, but the ball is overhit and Viviano can collect.
Emanuelson sends in yet another cross, but it's met only by Fiorentina heads.
Toni nearly finds a way through a congested Milan box, but it's parried.
As skillful as that was from Valero, it was awful defending from Mexes. Appeals for a handball from Bonera there, but the referee opts not to hand the Italian a second yellow.
AAAAH GOAL! VALERO! 2-0 To the visitors courtesy of a piece of magic from the Spaniard. He drives into the area, shrugging off Montolivo before jinxing his way past Mexes! Fantastic goal!
How will Milan recover from that awful penalty miss from Pato? Get in touch via @goal_intl!
Two Fiorentina players were booked in the buildup to that penalty - Roncaglia for the foul which warranted it, and Valero with his subsequent protests.
Missed PenaltyAlexandre Pato
MISSED! Pato with a horror of a penalty! He rifles it over, in Sergio Ramos style, if you like. Poor stuff, poor stuff from the forward.
Yellow CardBorja Valero
Yellow CardFacundo Roncaglia
PENALTY to Milan! And it's Roncaglia, who tried to win one on the other end just now, who concedes it for elbowing Pato, it seems. Harsh call in my opinion, but the ball will go on the spot.
Luca Toni latches onto a lobbed ball into the box, attempts to set up a teammate with a flicked header backwards, but no purple shirt even comes near it.
Roncaglia looks to win a penalty off a free kick, but it's clearly theatrical and play goes on.
Yellow CardDaniele Bonera
Pato goes down in a position from which a free kick would have been dangerous, but appeals are waved away. Bonera is booked for crashing into Toni's back as the forward looked to hold up the ball.
Boateng is flagged for offside on a long ball - looked a tight call, that, but the attack wasn't really going anywhere.
The Milan skipper is really making a nuisance of himself in the centre of the park - the hosts could use a character like that, in all fairness.
Ambrosini puts in a strong challenge, which gives the home crowd something to cheer about.
Ricardo Montolivo has been anonymous against his former side up to this point. All of Milan's midfield have been poor really, but the Italian is of course under close watch.
Toni nearly finds Valero with a cheeky layoff, but that ball is a tad heavy and the former Villareal man can't get to it.
Yellow CardDavid Pizarro
Pizarro is booked for dissent. Needless yellow, as those usually are.
El Shaarawy looks to weasle his way through two Fiorentina defenders but Cuadrado forces the Egyptian off the ball.
Fiorentina in a comfortable tempo here as the hosts show little urgency.
Milan just do not look like a unit out there, none of their four midfielders look to pick up the ball when their defenders are under pressure. Ambrosini has a shot from range, but it's comfortably wide.
Milan clear the corner and the one that follows. Fiorentina looking to build from the back again...
Constant plays it safe and hands the visitors a corner.
Aaah Boateng should to better. The Ghanian is in plenty of space as he picks the ball up in midfield, but rather than pick out Pato or El Shaarawy, he has a very poor crack from range.
Emanuelson again with a cross, this time only just failing to find Pato.
There seems to be little to connect the Milan defence and attack at the moment, as a Emanuelson sends in a cross which wins the hosts a corner.
Oohh a bright moment from Emanuelson, as the Dutchman latches on to a Shaarawy through ball. Roncaglia gets back to deny the former Ajax-man, however.
That was shambolic defending from the hosts. A Cuadrado throw-in finds its way to Ljajic, who sets up Aquilini with a flick through a congested six-yard box. Abbiati completely helpless for that.
El Shaarawy nearly with an immidiate response there as he shoots over from the edge of the area.
GOOOAAAL FIORENTINA! AND IT'S DESERVED! Aquilani returns to haunt his former club as he latches on to a Ljajic layoff and rifles past Abbiati!
Whenever either team loses possession, there seems to be acres of midfield territory to surge into for both sides. That part of the pitch will be crucial in deciding the winner here.
Montolivo sends a long ball forward - but it's awful really, not a single red and black jersey near that.
Mexes nearly works himself into trouble with Cuadrado lurking, but manages to scuff it away.
El Sharaawy! Close! The diminutive Italian cuts inside from the right and evades what must be at least four Fiorentina defenders before sending his shot just over.
Milan look overrun in midfield at the moment - Nigel de Jong could be a substitute coming on if this keeps up.
Valero with a curler! Ambitious attempt, but it wasn't too far off.
OOHH Close! Pizarro rifles a shot from the edge of the area straight at Abbiati, which the stopper only just holds on to! Pressure from the visitors here.
Cuadrado calls for a penalty! The midfielder picked the ball up in midfield after poor passing from the hosts, and goes down in the area but the appeals are waved away!
The former Manchester City man is a part of a Fiorentina back three today, alongside Roncaglia and Rodgriuez. Meanwhile, Montolivo chases his former team down but concedes a throw-in.
Milan pick the ball up off a poor pass ball from Savic, but a poor ball forward sees the visitors get it back.
And Fiorentina get us underway!
The teams are out and kick off moments away.
So, with those statistics in mind, how do you see today's match ending? Will Milan build on last weekend's victory, or will Vicenzo Montella's men heap further pressure on the 2010 Scudetto winners? Tweet your thoughts and predictions to @goal_intl!
TEAM NEWS: FIORENTINA Viviano; Roncaglia, Rodriguez, Savic; Cuadrado, Aquilani, Pizarro, Borja Valero, Pasqual; Ljajic, Toni
TEAM NEWS: MILAN Abbiati; De Sciglio, Mexes, Bonera, Constant; Ambrosini, Montolivo; Emanuelson, Boateng, Shaarawy; Pato
Milan meanwhile are yet to truly convince this campaign. The Rossoneri linger in 11th place, seven points behind their visitors. Last week's 5-1 thumping of Chievo has sent the hosts above Fiorentina in the scoring charts however, with 17 strikes to date. Only three Serie A outfits currently top that tally.
Had you tuned into this fixture last season, you would have found yourself watching a title-challenger hosting a mid-table side - but in the current campaign, the roles have been swapped. While the Viola are perhaps unlikely to strip Juventus of their league crown, they currently find themselves in a very respectable fourth spot.
Good evening and welcome to Goal.com's live coverage of today's Serie A clash between Milan and Fiorentina at San Siro.
