GOAL! Brest 0-3 PSG! Ah, it's an own goal. Harsh for Thebaux, who has been fantastic this evening. Jallet's effort from the edge of the area is diverted in by Mendy. Not the best way to end the game.
THREE ADDED MINUTES.
THIAGO SILVA! Oh wow, what a clearance! That looked certainly like a goal there. Grougi's corner is met by a header from Ayite, and it looks to be sailing in under the crossbar before the Brazilian international superbly heads it away before falling into the net himself. That was brilliant!
Woah, terrible mix-up between Thiago Motta and Sirigu, with the goalkeeper passing to his compatriot in the area, despite Ayite just behind. Motta is forced to clear behind for a corner. Embarrassing.
Ibrahimovic! He could've had number 19 there, as he is denied by the goalkeeper, before Maxwell's effort on the edge of the area is blocked by Kantari.
Brest meanwhile, are now going on a run of three home games without a win here. Before December, they had won five and drawn one. Successive losses to Marseille, Montpellier and now PSG.
It'sa yellow card for substitute Ayite, who took out Ibrahimovic despite not getting any of the ball. The goalscorer is OK nonetheless.
Yellow CardJonathan Ayite
Substitution for PSG: Javier Pastore is off for Clement Chantome - meanwhile on the pitch, Ibrahimovic has taken a tumble, and looks to be in a bit of pain.
Just over 7 minutes to go here at Stade Francis La Ble, and PSG are going temporarily three points clear at the top. Lyon play tomorrow, whilst Marseille entertain Saint-Etienne late on Sunday.
Eden Ben Basat
Gameiro's athleticism showing, as he bullies Baysse and Kantari in the opposite area. A fine striker, but he cannot get past the last defender and test the goalkeeper there.
GROUGI! Great effort, it's gone past the wall and parried by Salvatore Sirigu. The goalkeeper has proven to be hard to beat this season so far.
PSG edging towards the top of the Ligue 1 table for the second year in a row. But Brest have a free-kick just 22 metres out, can they make this one count?!
The Brest resistance well and truly dead in Brittany. Gameiro has his fifth league goal, and it could very well be his last in a PSG shirt after rumours of a move away in January. Still, cracking player.
GOAL! BREST 0-2 PSG! Gameiro! He's only been off the bench for a couple of minutes and the 25-year-old has got his goal! Superb strike, after Thebaux had parried it his way. Gameiro's fifth league goal of the season.
Substitution to Brest - it's Charlison Benschop off for Jonathan Ayite. Can the substitute make it work?
GAMEIRO! Almost an effort with his first touch of the ball. Good movement by the substitute who attempts to feed Ibrahimovic, but it goes just wide.
Substitution from PSG - Jeremy Menez has come off for Kevin Gameiro.
Wow, almost an outrageous strike by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He has history, you just have to look at his goal against England a month ago. Superb effort.
Yellow CardSalvatore Sirigu
A yellow card for Salvatore Sirigu for time-wasting. Not the cleverest of moves.
BEN BASAT! A superb rare effort from the club's top scorer as he cuts in from the left and fire a low effort towards Sirigu, and is just beaten by a shot that flies inches wide.
IBRAHIMOVIC! Oh, it should be his second. Fantastic one-two with Pastore as the striker attempts to chip Thebaux at his near post, but the goalkeeper palms it away, and then smothers it at the second attempt.
An awkward moment for Thebaux to endure as a speculative cross from Lavezzi almost sneaks into the near post. The goalkeeper is forced to punch it away.
GROUGI! Long-range effort from the midfielder to try and work Sirigu, but the effort goes hopelessly wide. Not a good effort from Grougi, who has been rather average this evening.
A rare Brest attack as they attempt to fashion an equaliser, but Thiago Silva illustrates his undeniable quality once more with a fantastic block to deny Benschop.
Well, Brest are signalling for a penalty, but it won't be given. Baysse races in from behind to attempt to get a connection on the ball, but trips up under pressure from Jallet.
The first Brest change of the night. And it's not a surprising one either. Traore departs, for an attacker in Mario Licka.
LAVEZZI! Should've been an instant 2-0. Brest crumbling totally as yet another poor header from Traore opens up Lavezzi, who finds some space but drags his shot narrowly wide. He's snatching at chances now.
A really delightful cross from Jallet who does ever so well to measure his cross perfectly towards Ibrahimovic. The Swede has 18 so far this season - 3 behind last year's top scorers Nene and Olivier Giroud.
GOAL! PSG TAKE THE LEAD! Fantastic delivery by Jallet as Ibrahimovic gets in behind captain Kantari to diver the ball past Thebaux. It's Zlatan's 18th league goal of the season!
Baysse being worked on the flank as he continues to stem the Parisian stranglehold. Sakho gets among the forwards from a corner, but he diverts the ball narrowly wide, and appears to be limping.
PASTORE! There was the chance, and it's a poor finish from the Argentine. Great pass from Lavezzi to pick out his compatriot just inside the area, and he scoops it over the bar. Again, PSG are being undone by profligate finishing.
PSG are given anther chance to plunder the Brest box at the minute after a poor Traore clearance. Jallet on the ball on the right, but his cross fails to find a team-mate.
Ibrahimovic thwarted by Kantari. The defender gets a timely block on a finish from the Swede, as Lavezzi continues to wreak havoc down this left wing. Brest struggling at the minute.
JALLET! Another super save by the goalkeeper.Fantastic speculative cross by Pastore, which is deflected into the path of Jallet, who in turn forces a drive goalwards. The goalkeeper pushes it away for a corner.
UNDERWAY IN THE SECOND HALF! Brest get us started - can they hold out with ten men?
A dreary half was brought into life when referee Sebastian Moreira sent off Abdoulwahid Sissoko for a shocking challenge on Ezequiel Lavezzi. Since then, Ibrahimovic and Matuidi have gone close, but at half-time, it's 0-0.
HALF-TIME: Stade Brest 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain
45' + 1'
MATUIDI! A superb run by the tireless midfielder who ghosts in behind the defence to latch onto Maxwell's pass, and he fires it into the side-netting.Could've been a second game in a row in which he has struck in additional time.
ONE MINUTE ADDED ON AT THE END OF THE FIRST HALF.
Lavezzi skips past one, before appearing to tumble inside the area. No penalty, and play continues as Baysse gets another Brest attack going for the hosts.
Chance for Thiago Motta! And it's fired over. A rather quiet game from the Italy international who prefers to just sit back defensively. Thebaux with the goal-kick.
IBRAHIMOVIC! The free-kick is met with a fantastic stop once more. The free-kick almost wrongfoots the goalkeeper who gets on the line wonderfully to turn it around the post.
Pastore's loose ball sits out in front of Christophe Jallet, as the right-back opts to disguise a pass towards Ibrahimovic rather than shoot. Menez was caught by Chafni, and it's a free-kick.
Yellow CardZlatan Ibrahimovic
Ibrahimovic is booked for something that was not shown on camera. It appears to be an altercation with Grougi, who is acting as if something's been said. Calm down Zlatan!
PASTORE! It's a fantastic effort and Thebaux produces a sublime double-fist save to deny the effort. Brest struggling to maintain it at 0-0 as it stands.
Pastore produces a through ball towards Ibrahimovic but it's slightly over-hit and goes all the way out for a goal-kick. Moments earlier, Jallet saw a shot scuffed wide.
Not the first time PSG have faced a side with a numberical advantage - you just have to look at their defeat to nine-man Rennes in November.
And the Stade Francis Le-Ble roars furiously after the referee's decision to send off Sissoko. Brest down to ten, and after a second viewing, you can see why. A shocking two footed challenge on Lavezzi.
Red CardAbdoulwahid Sissoko
Well, no-one saw that coming. Ball was there to be played, and the referee has produced a straight red card. Coach Landry Chauvin is going ballistic down on the touchline.
RED CARD - ABDOU SISSOKO
Ezequiel Lavezzi chases a loose ball before he is dispossessed by Sissoko. Play is halted, and Lavezzi is writhing around here.
Few statistics provided by Opta in the MatchCentre. PSG have more than double the number of passes as the opposition, and are averaging almost 90% pass completion in the first half-hour.
Menez with a fantastic through ball down the middle towards Ibrahimovic, and Thebaux is at it again. The goalkeeper races off his line to slide the ball out of harm's way.
Brest really pulling at the strings here, after yet another energetic midfield opening. Ben Basat is fed by Chafni, but they can't test Sirigu at the minute.
BEN BASAT! Another brilliant venture from the Israeli international who holds off Maxwell and attempts to pull the trigger, before being dispossessed by the powerful Thiago Silva. With six league goals at home, he is a best bet to score for the hosts tonight.
PSG threatening, and Ibrahimovic's strike after a measured counter attack is well denied by Thebaux once more. A decent start to the game from him.
BENSCHOP! It's a decent strike, powered through the defence, with Sirigu positioning himself well to deny the hosts. It was a great strike.
IBRAHIMOVIC! The rebound from Thiago Silva's chance falls to the Swede, who fires rather tamely, and Thebaux produces a double save to deny PSG. They should be 1-0 up here.
THIAGO SILVA! Oh wow, what a fantastic save by Alexis Thebaux. It was a superb delivery by Menez, and Silva rises highest above Mendy to power a header towards goal, and is denied by Thebaux, who gets down well at point-blank range.
And it's Ibrahimovic who bombs down on the far side, looking to pull the trigger and is denied by a wonderful tackle by Martial. Corner to PSG.
PENALTY?! NO! That's the order given by referee Stephane Moreira, as Menez goes down rather easily in the penalty box. Sissoko was the guilty party there, but it's gone the other way.
Jallet is found in acres of space by Pastore down the right, as his speculative delivery is easily dealt with by the Brestois rearguard. It's been a rather quiet opening 20 minutes.
LAVEZZI! Its a wonderful dink by Motta into the box, as it's headed on by Kantari, but a worse header is produced by Mendy who again diverts the ball towards his own goalkeeper, as Thebaux makes the ball safe.
IBRAHIMOVIC! That was a better move by the Swede. Fantastic low cross towards the centre as the 31-year-old gets a heavy backheel on that, as Thebaux forces it away. Fantastic.
Another free-kick afforded to Carlo Ancelotti's men but this time they cannot force through Brest's resolute defence. It takes a second attempt at the defence to get away, as Thiago Silva is foiled.
IBRAHIMOVIC! Well over the bar. Nowhere near a good effort. Thebaux watches that sail over the bar, and play restarts from a goal-kick.
Pastore attempts to launch a fine lofted ball over the defence towards Ibrahimovic, and it's well cut out by the superb Traore. Lavezzi wins a free-kick after a foul by Kantari.
Good atmosphere at Stade Francis Le-Ble in these opening stages in what is a chilly night in Brittany. Pastore attempts to force through an opening, but Baysse holds strong to deny the visitors.
Ancelotti shrieks at Motta in the midfield as his side struggle to contain a Brest side growing with confidence. Worth noting, that Lucas Moura could be eligible for the next PSG league game in January.
Lavezzi being hounded at the back as he struggles to get a loose ball away. Under pressure by Grougi, the Argentine finally manages to strike the ball , as Brest close in.
Jallet is being worked down this near flank as the right-back blocks a threatening cross by Mendy. Pastore wins the throw-in off the left-back.
Further attacking moves by Brest, as Mamadou Sakho composes himself to dispossess Charlison Benschop. Throw-in for the hosts, which Mendy takes.
BEN BASAT! First venture for the hosts up the other end, and it's a dragged shot by the Israeli international. Showed brilliant strength to cut in on the edge of the area.
Great movement by Matuidi, who searches out Lavezzi on the wing, before the move breaks down. Kantari, the captain this evening for the hosts, uses his body well to deflect the ball before he too loses possession.
Great run down the right by Zlatan Ibrahimovic who searches for a low cross towards the on-rushing Menez. Johan Martial has done well to block the ball out before Mendy gets it away.
Miscued shot to get proceedings going from Ibrahimovic as he fires well wide after a loose shot. The Swede remember, will meet the Disciplinary Committee after a stamp on Dejan Lovren in last week's win over Lyon.
Good start from PSG. Maxwell picks up the ball on the left wing, driving in a drilled cross which sees Traore head awkwardly towards Thebaux, who captures the ball well.
It's Paris Saint-Germain who get us underway in the last round of fixtures for 2012. They attack from left to right, as Stephane Moreira signals play.
The teams are out to a rather Christmassy entrance at Stade Francis Le Ble. Win tonight, and PSG will stay on top of the table heading into the New Year for the second year in a row.
STADE BREST: Thébaux; Baysse, Martial, Kantari, Traoré, Mendy; Chafni, Ab.Sissoko, Grougi; Benschop, Ben Basat
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN: Sirigu; Jallet, Silva, Sakho, Maxwell; Pastore, Motta, Matuidi, Lavezzi; Menez, Ibrahimovic
Brest meanwhile can enter 2013 with a firm bit of distance between them and the relegation zone. Landry Chauvin's side have a formidable home record, but consequent home defeats to Marseille and Montpellier have seen their fortress become that little bit insecure.
We've been here before though. PSG went into round 18 of the last league season with a win, and top place in the table, which subsequently lost manager Antoine Koumbouare his job at the Parc des Princes. PSG went on to lose the title, and only regained top spot with a 1-0 win over leaders Lyon last week.
It's the final week of action in France before we bid 2012 farewell. It's been a topsy-turvy year for both sides. And even if the Mayan apocalypse failed to materialise, we have just the tonic tonight in a match which could potentially have ramifications at the top.
