Player Ratings: Bradford 0-5 Swansea

Jonathan de Guzman and Nathan Dyer scored doubles while forward Michu was simply too good as the Swans put the 10-man Bantams to the sword to lift the Capital One Cup at Wembley

    Matt Duke

A sorry end to a brilliant cup run for the goalkeeper. Will perhaps feel he could've gotten a little more on the ball to push it away from danger when Dyer capitalised on a rebound to score the first goal. Could do nothing about the second or third strikes, and was sent off for bringing down Dyer for a penalty.

    Stephen Darby

The former Liverpool reserve captain headed the ball well and got in good positions to deny the Swans the same freedom they enjoyed on the opposite flank, but looked a tad shaky as the game wore on.

  • Carl McHugh

    Carl McHugh

Didn't get close enough at all to Michu for the second goal, with the Spaniard's shot going through his legs. Michu is good, but McHugh should have got a block in. Moved to left-back at half-time.

    Rory McArdle

Like partner McHugh, he struggled with the pace and movement of Michu and the rest of Michael Laudrup's attackers.

Curtis Good Flop of the Match

The left-back struggled with Dyer and Rangel on the wing but didn't get much help from his team-mates at all. The 19-year-old was badly exposed and was substituted at half-time.

  • Garry Thompson

    Garry Thompson

Worked hard on the right but faded as Bradford went down to 10 men, as he could not cope with the skill and speed of Swansea's midfield. Replaced by Hines with 18 minutes left.

  • Will Atkinson

    Will Atkinson

Showed willingness to keep running for the team in spite of the huge challenge ahead, but couldn't offer anything for his side in the way of creating chances.

    Gary Jones

Make a couple of timely interceptions but faded against the class of the Premier League side - he will rue the fact his first chance to whip in a set piece only came after 85 minutes.

    Nathan Doyle

Looked to release Hanson over the top a few times but his long passes weren't accurate enough to trouble the Swansea defenders. Will be disappointed he didn't make more of the possession he had.

  • James Hanson

    James Hanson

The striker was isolated up front and had the thankless task of leading the line with very little support and poor service.

    Nahki Wells

His team-mates couldn't find him often enough for the forward to use his strength and pace to potentially expose Ki in the centre. Sacrificed for sub keeper McLaughlan after Duke was sent off.

Came on for the final half hour after Duke was sent off but couldn't stop De Guzman's expertly-taken penalty. Made a great late stop from Michu.

    Zavon Hines

Came on for Thompson for the last 15 minutes to inject some pace into the side, but the match was well over.

    Gerhard Tremmel

Had nothing to do in the opening half save for collect the ball a few times. The reserve goalkeeper has played every minute of the Capital One Cup this year and fully deserved his medal.

  • Ashley Williams

    Ashley Williams

The Swans centre-back was strong in defence and relished the extra time he had on the ball. Showed strength and intelligence to hold off the likes of Wells.

  • Ángel Rangel

    Ángel Rangel

Provided a constant threat on on the overlap as Swansea overloaded the right flank to great effect in the first half. Got the assist for De Guzman's second - a measured display.

    Ben Davies

The youngster went close with a towering header early on and showed confidence on the big occasion. Always offered an option on the left.

  • Leon Britton

    Leon Britton

His sharpness of mind in retaining possession made Bradford work that much harder for the ball - a key asset in the hustle and bustle of a potentially hazardous cup final.

  • Michu

    4.00

    Michu

His fine angled shot forced a save from Duke which resulted in the opening goal, and was a cut above the Bradford defenders as he scored a wonderful second. Simply a class above.

The tidy midfielder moved the ball on quickly and efficiently as usual, and made some dazzling combinations with Michu, particularly for the Spaniard to make it 2-0. He showed fine dribbling skills as the game wore on.

Nathan Dyer Top of the Match

Worried the Bantmas back line early on with incisive running and opened the scoring after being quickest to Duke's save from Michu, before adding the third with aplomb. Also won the penalty for 4-0. A superb performance.

  • Wayne Routledge

    Wayne Routledge

Linked up well with Michu and Dyer as he drifted across the front line with ease, and played a lovely pass for Dyer to make it 3-0.

    Jonathan De Guzmán

Went about his job in the centre quietly and calmly to stifle any potential threat from the League Two side. Argued with Dyer over the penalty but proved himself with a brilliant spot kick and a stoppage-time second.

    Sung-Yong Ki

Started at centre-back for his ball-playing ability and was rarely troubled, but was booked for a needless challenge on Wells. Had little else of note to do.

Came on for the final 15 minutes for Dyer with the game over as a contest, but got the ball tangled up in his feet a couple of times with better options waiting.
