2013 Afcon: Top five contenders for the goal king prize
1. Didier Drogba – Ivory Coast
This list would be highly questionable without the Ivorian. The 34-year-old has been phenomenally consistent for the Elephants since making his debut over a decade ago, scoring 59 goals in 91 caps. He comes into the tournament on the back of a highly successful season, where his goals won Chelsea the FA Cup and the much elusive Champions League. The Ivorian skipper has scored 10 solid goals since the 2006 Cup of Nations in Egypt, including three goals in the last tournament which propelled them into the final, where they lost dramatically. He almost single handedly qualified his country for the tournament, scoring three goals over two legs against Senegal.
