2013 Afcon: The newcomers
Victor Moses - Nigeria
In the December 2009 edition of the FourFourTwo Magazine Victor Moses was asked where he sees himself in five years time. “Who knows? But I'll be trying to play at the highest level. I want to be a Premier League regular, knocking on England's door. There's no reason why I can't be,” he said. If the younger Moses could be reached then he should be told the older Victor Moses has actually reached the highest level and is now a regular for European Champions Chelsea. For international football he has rather chosen a different path. Knocking on England’s door has been replaced by sitting at the table of men with the Nigerian national team. The days of Yakubu, Obafemi Martins and Osaze Odemwingie seem to be over as the Super Green Eagles try to grow back their feathers in their bid to soar to the summit of African football. One of these many new feathers comes in the form of Moses. The ex- England Under-19 player’s trickery and pace is a welcome addition to the Nigerian attack.
