Preko denies joining Inter Allies as assistant coach

Former Ifeanyi Ubah manager Yaw Preko has rubbished reports that he had joined Inter Allies to team up with former boss Kenichi Yatsuhashi as assistant coach.

The former Ghana international is without a job after parting ways with the NPFL side last month and was spotted at Allies' training ground last week.

“I mean it’s ridiculous why people will just say that I’ve signed for Inter Allies without asking officials of the club or contacting me” Preko was quoted as saying by Ghanaweb.

“As you’re aware, the last coach they had was Karim Zito who has since rejoined his club, Dreams FC.

“So, when I returned from Nigeria, they contacted me that they wanted me to assist them in pre-season and train their players until their new coach arrives. That’s basically why I’m seen around the team. I’m not going to be the assistant coach of Inter Allies or Kenichi,” he added.

Allies, who battled relegation last two seasons, have signed several top players including Zakaria Adebayor Victorien from Niger, Afeez Aremu from Nigeria and Ghanaian Michel Otou ahead of the 2017-18 season.
