Mkhitaryan: It's a pleasure to play alongside Ozil

The Armenian international scored Arsenal's opener against AC Milan and praised his team-mate for his two assists at San Siro

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has revealed that he loves to play alongside Arsenal team-mate Mesut Ozil and believes that the two can continue to combine to great effect for the Gunners.

The Gunners duo were instrumental in the north Londoners 2-0 win against AC Milan at San Siro on Thursday, with Ozil recording two stunning assists to guide an improved Arsenal to a first leg victory.

Mkhitaryan provided three assists on his debut against Everton but has struggled to influence an under performing Arsenal side in recent week before netting the opening goal in Milan as Arsenal silenced the 70,000 home fans.

And he hailed the Germany international for his impact on the team having signed a new deal in January.

"Yes, everyone is asking about that [playing in the same team as Ozil], but why not?" Mkhitaryan told Vivaro News.

"This is not the first time that two No.10s play together. It's just a pleasure to play alongside such a player like Mesut Ozil, because everyone knows that he is a world class player.

"If I'm not mistaken, he provided two assists for the first and second goals. Why not? He can assist me and I can assist him as well."

Mkhitaryan was part of the Manchester United team that won the Europa League last season but the Armenia international says it's too early to draw comparisons with the current Arsenal side.

"It's still too early to make comparisons with Manchester United, but I can say that I feel comfortable, the atmosphere is good, the team is good and the guys are good.

"We made a very good impression, especially in the first half when we managed to get the two goal advantage. Maybe we were not as concentrated for the second half and couldn't play the football we wanted, but it is important that we won 2-0 and got an advantage before the second leg.

"I am fully concentrated on football and I want to help Arsenal. There's still a long way to the final and a lot of games to play. We should concentrate on every match."
