On-loan Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante has refused to rule out a summer move to the Premier League amid talk of interest from Manchester United.
The 22-year-old has emerged as one the most promising talents in Italian football, with a senior international debut made in October 2017.
He was already generating interest by that point, with Juventus keeping a close eye on a highly-rated prospect who returned to Serie A last summer on a short-term deal from Benfica.
Cristante has, however, expressed a desire to test himself in England and admits that a dream move could be made when the next transfer window opens.
He told Corriere della Sera when quizzed on his future: “I don’t know if Juventus want me.
“What I will do next summer depends on the next five months.
“I can’t rule out a move to the Premier League. I think it’s a good league for me and my qualities.
“One must always believe in his qualities. I’ve never cared about criticisms, I’ve always listened to my manager. I always give my best, I always work hard.
“Let’s see what the future has in store for me.”
Cristante is a product of AC Milan’s academy system, but left the San Siro for Portugal in 2014.
Much of his time at Benfica has been spent out on loan, at Palermo, Pescara and Atalanta.
He has made 27 appearances across all competitions this season, netting 10 goals, and admitted to Gazzetta dello Sport in December: “So many people tell me: ‘The Premier League is the perfect place for you,’ and I agree with them. It’s physical, there’s a lot of tackling and open football. I can really see myself there.”
